To provide a water and oil repellent fabric in which a base fabric may exhibit an excellent contamination preventing effect by repelling liquid contamination such as a dye or blood with a water and oil repellent coat applied onto the base fabric and a touch of the base fabric may be retained.
A method for manufacturing a water and oil repellent fabric comprises the steps of: forming a coating film on a surface of fiber included in a base fabric by coating the base fabric with a coating liquid including at least a solvent and an ionizing radiation curable resin composition containing an ionizing radiation curable resin and a fluorine-based compound or by immersing the base fabric in the coating liquid; and forming a cured film on the surface of the fiber by irradiating the coating film with ionizing radiation. The water and oil repellent fabric attains a surface roughness Zb (μm) 1.5 times or more as high as a surface roughness Za (μm) of the base fabric attained before coating or immersing the base fabric.
