Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a water-resistant optical anisotropic film, by which generation of defects such as cracks and peeling can be suppressed.
The method for manufacturing a water-resistant optical anisotropic film includes a water resistance imparting step of bringing an optical anisotropic film containing an organic pigment having an anionic group into contact with a water resistance imparting liquid containing a polyvalent cation compound and a monovalent cation compound. A mass ratio (monovalent cation compound/polyvalent cation compound) of the polyvalent cation compound and the monovalent cation compound included in the water resistance imparting liquid ranges from 0.01 to 2.
