To provide a method for a wire-shaped article coated with a UV curing resin which is stable in a coating application state and curing state and is high in quality and an apparatus for manufacturing the same.
The method for manufacturing the wire-shaped article coated with a UV curing resin by applying a UV curing resin to a wire-shaped article, such as a coated optical fiber ribbon 11, and curing the UV curing resin with a UV curing apparatus comprises installing a UV permeable pipe 13 into the UV curing apparatus, supplying inert gas from the wire-shaped article coated with the UV curing resin and a supply pipe 14 into the UV permeable pipe, sucking the atmosphere gas in the UV permeable pipe from a suction pipe 15, detecting the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere gas of the UV permeable pipe by using an oxygen concentration detector 16 and curing the UV curing resin by irradiating the resin with UV rays while controlling the oxygen concentration by an oxygen concentration controller 17 in such a manner that the oxygen concentration in the UV permeable pipe 13 attains a prescribed value.
