Abstract:

PURPOSE: To greatly heighten rust-proofing power, by coating the bottom of automobile floor with a composite material comprising a metal salt of fatty acid of lanolin, a metal salt of synthetic sulfonic acid and a wax-like mixture.

CONSTITUTION: A metal salt of fatty acid of lanolin is made from a material obtained by refining and dehydrating a wax-like substance clinging to sheep hair. A metal salt of synthetic sulfonic acid is produced by sulfonating alkylbenzene, alkylnaphthalene or the like. A wax-like mixture is made of petroleum wax, paraffin wax or the like. A rust-proofing material of adequate thixotropy is composed of the metal salts and the wax-like mixture. The rust-proofing material can be applied at as large a thickness as about 400μ. The rust-proofing power of the material is very high.
