Abstract:
PURPOSE:To separate Raman scattered light from Rayleigh scattered light by projecting the Raman scattered light from a prism surface different from the incidence surface of a prism on which light from a light source is incident. CONSTITUTION:The laser light emitted by the light source 1 is diffused spectrally in the prism 10 and projected from a surface 10b, and light with specific wavelength lambda0 is incident on an optical fiber 4. The Stokes' light in the back Raman scattered light from the optical fiber 4 strikes on a surface 10c and is refracted by the surface 10c in a direction of separation from the Rayleigh scattered light and incident on a photodetector 7. The anti-stokes' light in the back scattered light, on the other hand, impinges on a reflecting film 15 provided to the surface 10a and is reflected to inside the prism 10 and emitted from a surface 10d and is made incident on the photodetection surface of a photodetector 9.
