PURPOSE: To decrease the number of parts and to facilitate maintenance work by consolidating the measuring function of char bed level and the measuring function of the luminance.
CONSTITUTION: A monitor camera 8 is constituted by an optical lens system 9, a semitransparent mirror 10, an optical filter 11 for decreasing luminance, optical sensors 12 arranged in line, an optical filter 13 which transmits only light beams in the vicinity of NaD rays, and sensors 14 arranged in line, and attached to a wall of a furnace 1. The optical lens system 9 guides the light beam in the up and down direction in the recovered boiler furnace, which are inputted from the direction of an arrow, to the sensors 12 and 14. The sensors 12 and 14 are constituted by 256 solid image pickup elements, which are linearly arranged in correspondence with the light in the up and down direction in the furnace. The filter 11 is used for the char bed level measurement, and the filter 13 is used for the luminance measurement. In this constitution, the char bed level in the furnace is measured by the sensor 12, and the luminance in the furnace can be measured based on outputs of the sensors 12 and 14.
