PURPOSE: To enable continuous measurement of the concn. of CaCO3 and/or CaSO3 in a slurry contg. CaCO3 and/or CaSO3 by controlling the temp. and pH of said slurry to prescribed values, sucking air therein and calculating the concn. by using the concn. of CO2 and/or SO2 in the gaseous mixture as well as the sampling flow rate of the slurry and the flow rate value of the gaseous mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The temp. of a stagnating liquid 6 contg. CaCO3 and/or CaSO3 is maintained at ≥70°C and a pump 12 is controlled by a pH detector 14 and a pH controller 15 to feed sulfuric acid C into a reaction vessel 5 thereby controlling the pH to ≤3. The air controlled to a required flow rate by a flow rate controller 17 is blown into the liquid 6. A part of the waste gas F thereof is fed to a CO2 analyzer 19 and/or SO2 analyzer 22 by which the respective concns. are analyzed and the respective signals are fed to a calculator 20 for the concn. of CaCO3 and/or a calculator 23 for the concn. of CaSO3. The signal *1 of the controller 17 and the flow rate signal *2 of the sample liquid A of a metering pump 1 are further inputted respectively to the calculators 20, 23. The calculators 20, 23 perform logical operation by using these signals to calculate the respective concns.
