Title:
METHOD FOR MEASURING DEGREE OF SATURATION OF GROUND AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING LIQUEFACTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3800509
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply measure a degree of saturation of ground and pump underground water for preventing liquefaction using the measurement rationally.
SOLUTION: In this method for measuring a degree of saturation which becomes an index of liquefaction strength of the ground, a test for pumping a fixed amount of underground water continuously per unit time from the ground to be measured is conducted to obtain ratio coefficient of storage of the ground from the relation between the pumping time and a reduction amount of water level and obtain a degree of saturation from the relation between the previously obtained ratio coefficient of storage and the degree of saturation. A hydraulic pressure gauge 5 is provided at each depth in the ground to obtain a reduction amount of water level when pumping underground water from changes of water pressure accompanied with pumping from a well 1. A degree of saturation of the ground is measured by the measuring method, and pumping is performed from the ground in accordance with the results to reduce a level of underground water in order to reduce a degree of saturation of the ground and increase the strength for liquefaction.
