Title:
METHOD FOR MEASURING DEPTH OF DECARBURIZED LAYER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3534579
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the depth of a decarburized layer can be measured automatically accurately by using a picture processing method.
SOLUTION: In a method for measuring depth of decarburized layer, the cross-sectional picture of an object to be inspected is taken and divided into parts (S1) and shading correction is performed (S2), and then, maximizing processes and minimizing processes are combinedly performed (S3), with the number of maximizing processes being made larger than that of the minimizing processes. Then, after an averaging process is performed (S4), the picture is binarized (S5). Thereafter, a hole filling process is performed by erasing island- like black elements existing in white pixels (S6) and the depth of a decarburized layer is discriminated by counting the number of white pixels continuously existing along a measuring line perpendicular to the surface of the object (S7). When the white pixels are scattered, whether or not the pixels are continuous is discriminated in accordance with the distances to the pixels.
