Title:
METHOD FOR MEASURING DISTORTION DISTRIBUTION OF GROUND AND BASE ROCK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3773772
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a measurement extending over several tens km by catching a subject to be measured as a line and to perform a precise and real time measurement of distortion by suppressing the temperature of a laid optical fiber.
SOLUTION: This method comprises driving laying rods into the ground and base rock on both sides of subjects to be measured 1, 2, 3 and 4 such as a plurality of cracks 3A-3D present at proper intervals, laying one optical fiber 5 inserted to a tube having a preset length while applying a fixed tension on the upper part of each laying rod with an adhesive, keeping the temperature in the tube at a preset temperature, connecting a distortion and loss integrated optical pulse tester to one end of the optical fiber 5 in the state where the optical fiber 5 is sagged with no tension in positions except each subject to be measured, and measuring the longitudinal distortion caused in the optical fiber by the distortion and loss integrated optical pulse tester on the basis of Brillouin scattered light in the optical fiber 5, thereby measuring the distortion distribution of the ground and base rock.
