To measure the harmonic characteristics of a harmonic of interest on the load side or the upstream side of an injection point by utilizing known admittance or impedance on the load side of the injection point in an electric power system.
A current ImL of each of both inter-order harmonics flowing from an injection point Pi to the load side is measured, a current ImL' of the current ImL flowing into a load device 10 near the load side of the injection point Pi is measured, a voltage Vm of each of the both inter-order harmonics in an electric power system 1 is found from the currents ImL' and admittance YmL' or impedance ZmL' of each of the both inter-order harmonics converted from known admittance or impedance of the device 10, and admittance YmL, YmU or impedance ZmL, ZmU of each of the both inter-order harmonics on the measurement side of the electric power system 1 are computed from the currents ImL or ImU and the voltages Vm, thus determining the harmonic admittance or the harmonic impedance of a harmonic of interest on the measurement side.
