Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the method for measuring the machine height of a surveying instrument and a measuring instrument, which can be simply utilized by anybody at a certain degree of accuracy without using the extending technology of tape measure and the like and complicated, expensive optical technology.
CONSTITUTION: In the machine-height measuring method for a surveying instrument for measuring the machine height of the surveying instrument, which is set so that the center of the machine is located on the vertical line passing a measuring point, a point, where a horizontal line L passing a mechanical center O of a surveying instrument S intersects the side surface of the machine, is made to be a machine-height point P. A point, which is symmetrical to the machine center O with respect to a line segment MP linking the machine height point P and a measuring point M, is specified as a machine-center symmetric point Q. A distance QM between the specified machine-center symmetric point Q and the measuring point M is measured as the machine height.
