Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measured a roll profile with high accuracy by removing the effect of deformation due to heat and other causes, by calculating the motion error of a displacement detector mount stand at the time of the measurement of the roll profile from the measured value of a displacement measuring device and correcting a measuring error. CONSTITUTION:A displacement detector mount stand 4 is moved in the axis (arrow) direction of a work roll 2 and the partial roll profile of the work roll 2 is measured by displacement detectors 103a-103g. The measured values contain the motion error of the displacement detector mount stand 4. The motion error of the displacement detector mount stand 4 is calculated from the measured values of motion error measuring displacement detectors 103c-103 and the measured values of the detectors 103a, 130b, 103f, 103g are corrected to make it possible to calculate a real partial profile. Further, the whole roll profile can be calculated from the real partial profile.
