Title:
METHOD OF MEASURING TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN CONTINUOUS CASTING OF COPPER OR COPPER ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002181633
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method of measuring temperature distribution in continuous casting of copper or a copper alloy that can measure molten metal temperature distribution of a plurality of parts and obtain a plurality of temperature data with one thermocouple with a sheath and reduce the cost of the thermocouple by reducing the frequency of insertion into the measuring parts of molten metal.

In this method of measuring temperature distribution in continuous casting of copper or the copper alloy, one thermocouple with a sheath part previously distorted before temperature measurement is prepared and inserted in molten metal from the upper part of a mold through an insertion guide to acquire thermometric data (thermocouple A-1) from a first thermometric contact at the tip of the thermocouple A. Then the thermocouple with the sheath is disconnected from the position of distortion applied to the sheath part of the thermocouple, to set a second thermometric contact and to obtain thermometric data (thermocouple A-2). The thermometric data of two parts can thereby be obtained with time difference using one thermocouple with the sheath.
