Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the water and salt contents of emulsion nondestructively by detecting the transmission wave and reflection wave of radiated electromagnetic wave, obtaining the dielectric constact and dielectric tangent of a substance to be measured, and using a plurality of specific expressions.

CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic wave is radiated to emulsion containing salt, attenuation and phase difference for the application wave of the transmission wave or reflection wave are simultaneously measured, a dielectric constant and a dielectric loss tangent which are the physical quantity of an object to be measured are obtained from the measurement value, and water and salt contents of the object to be measured are obtained from the value. A specific dielectric constant r and dielectric loss tangent tanδ which are the physical quantity of an object to be illuminated can be obtained from expressions I-V, [α is an attenuation constant (l/m) in the expression, β is a phase constant (l/m), ω is an angular velocity (rad/s), is a measurement dielectric constant, o is a vacuum dielectric constant (8.854×10-12F/m), r is a specific dielectric constant, z is a sample thickness (m), (a) is an attenuation (dB), and Φ is a phase difference (degrees)], according to a phase difference Φ and an attenuation (a) of the transmission wave or reflection wave when applying the electromagnetic wave to a substance.
