Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase resistance against the tensile load by fitting pins in a plurality of holes piercing internal and external inserts, and specifying the arrangement and dimensions of the pins in joining a metallic joint (an end coupling) with a composite material tube for surveying an undersea oil field.
CONSTITUTION: After filaments such as carbon fibers impregnated with a synthetic resin in advance are found at the equal rate in the direction of the specified winding angle of +α and -α relative to the axis of the tube, a tube 1 formed of a composite material is formed by superposing. A wedge-like internal insert 3a of a metallic joint 3 is fitted to an end of the tube 1, another metallic external insert 5 is fitted to the outer circumference of an end part of the tube 1, and a tube end is abutted on a shoulder 4 of the joint 3. A plurality of radial holes 9, 10 are formed in the internal and external inserts 3a, 5, and pins 11 are fitted thereto to tighten the tube 1 with the pipe joint 3. Each pin 11 is provided within the length D in the axial direction expressed by the formula D=(n-1)i/Ktgα, where (n) is the number of the array of the pins 11, and (i) is the circumferential pitch.
