PURPOSE: To move a knot position from a lower face to a side face of a packed object without complicating a structure and without stopping a packing line.

CONSTITUTION: A knot 11a of a string on a lower face of a packed object 16 is locked and held by a holding plate 12. Relative movement between the object 16 and the knot 11a under operation of a subsequent carrying means (belt conveyer) 18-2 and swinging of the holding plate 12 in a direction for rising following the movement of the object causes the knot of the string to move from the lower face to a side face of the object.
