Abstract:
PURPOSE: To solve the defective transfer of ink by setting the take-up tension of a heat transfer recording medium to be larger than both of shear strength and release strength at a specified temperature of a heat transfer layer in a system of transferring the heat transfer layer to a body to be recorded into the image shape by applying heat and then taking up the heat transfer recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: A heat transfer recording medium 30 with a heat transfer layer and a body 8 to be recorded are clamped between a thermal head 40 and a platen roller 50, and the heat transfer layer is transferred to the body 8 to be recorded into the image shape by the thermal head 40, and the heat transfer recording medium 30 is taken up after transfer. In the above-said heat transfer recording, the take-up force of the heat transfer recording medium 30 is set to be larger than either of the shear strength and release strength at 70°C of the heat transfer layer, and recording is carried out. The take-up tension of the heat transfer recording medium 30 is set preferably to be at least 40g/cm and the force of bringing the thermal head 40 with the platen roller 50 is set to be 50-250g/cm2. Also the shear strength at 25°C of the heat transfer layer is set to be 200g/cm or more.
