Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting of a high cleanliness low carbon steel having pretreatment load lower than that of the conventional method without developing the operational trouble in a vacuum degassing treatment.
SOLUTION: When the low carbon molten steel is decarburized to 0.02-0.05 mass% carbon concentration by using a primary refining furnace for decarburizing the molten steel under atmospheric pressure and successively, using a vacuum degassing apparatus for again refining the molten steel from the primary refining furnace under vacuum state, in order, the decarburizing to 0.02-0.05 mass% carbon concentration in the molten steel is executed in the primary refining furnace. Further, carburizing-treatment is applied at the tapping of the steel and the tapped molten steel is vacuum-decarburized and deoxidized in the vacuum-degassing apparatus, and after making the soluble oxygen concentration to ≤0.02 mass%, further deoxidizing agent is added to execute the deoxidizing treatment.
