Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent and treat intestinal wound or ulcer by administering a composition comprising a protein source, a carbohydrate source and fat source. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a protein source containing a hydrolyzed whey or a casein in an amount of 14-25% of the total calorie, a carbohydrate source selected from a group of a maltodextrin and a cornstarch in an amount of 40-60% of the total calorie, and a fat source in an amount of 33-44 % of the total calorie. The fat source includes a medium chain triglyceride and a long chain triglyceride in a ratio of (1:4) to (4:1). Further, the before composition contains vitamin and mineral sources of 75-150% of a recommended tolerance per day per 1500 Kcal of the administered composition and is prepared to an enteric coated preparation. The side effect to gastrointestine is inhibited and retarded by administering nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent (e.g. indomethacin) at the same day of the administration of the composition.
