Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain modified cellulosic fiber by efficiently and economically subjecting cellulosic fiber to the graft copolymerization in an aqueous solution system.
CONSTITUTION: This method for modifying cellulosic fiber is characterized by subjecting cellulosic fiber in which mercapto group is previously introduced thereinto to the graft copolymerization with a vinyl compound.
