Abstract:

PURPOSE: To mold an exothermic material with less energy without requiring a drying stage by adding an urethane binder to a mixture composed of specific components, then molding this material.
CONSTITUTION: The urethane binder, such as phenol urethane binder, oil urethane binder or polyol urethane binder, is added to the mixture composed of refractory powder, such as aluminum powder, iron oxide, zircon sand as aggregate and silica sand at the time of molding the exothermic material for casting and thereafter, the exothermic material is molded. As a result, the stage for heating and drying the molded goods is saved and a casting mold is formed simultaneously with an exothermic pad by molding the exothermic pad directly on a wooden pattern and adding casting sand thereon.
