Abstract:

PURPOSE: To dispense with selection of materials, and obtain an irregular pitch helical body with excellent accuracy by fitting a regular pitch helical body into the spiral groove of a cylindrical mold provided with an irregular pitch spiral groove, and heating the mold to the softening temperature or higher of the quality of the helical body, and thereafter cooling it to the softening temperature or lower.
CONSTITUTION: A regular helical body 1 is wound round a mold 4 while fitting it into the spiral groove 5 of the first mold 4. After setting the regular pitch helical body 1, the second mold 6 for pressing the outer peripheral surface of the helical body 1 is attached on the first mold 4. Next, first and second set molds 4, 6 are inserted into a heater 7. After the first and second molds are heated by the heater 7 to the softening temperature or higher for predetermined period, heating is released for cooling the molds 4, 6. When the helical body 1 is cooled to the softening temperature or lower, the molds 4, 6 are so separated that the helical body 1 is removed therefrom.
