To quickly and easily mount a connector on a coaxial cable without using a fastening member.
The method for mounting a connector 12 on a coaxial cable 14 including an inner side conductor 16 laid in a coaxial shape and an outer side conductor 18, is shown in following steps. The end of the coaxial cable 14 is pretreated so as to allow a part of the inner side conductor 16 to be exposed, and also allow a part of the outer side connector 18 to be exposed. The insulating disc 34 of the connector 12 is mounted to the exposed portion of the inner side conductor 16. A solder perform 38 is mounted to the exposed portion of the outer side conductor 18. The main body member 22 of the connector 12 is mounted over to the preform 38 located at the exposed portion of the outer side conductor 18. In order to form up a coaxial cable assembly 10 completely, solder preform 38 is fused first so as to allow the main body member 22 of the connector 12 to be thereby firmly mounted onto the exposed portion of the outer side conductor for the coaxial cable 14.
