PURPOSE: To mount a wear-resisting metallic liner with desired strength by forming a metal layer easy to join to aluminium on an mounting surface of a cylinder liner, pressing the liner in a required place of a cylinder block main body, and heating the linear and the block with high frequency to be joined to each other.

CONSTITUTION: A metal layer easy to join to aluminium is formed on a mounting surface of a cylinder liner 2 made of wear-resisting metal different from an aluminium-group metal, and the liner is pressed in a required place of a cylinder block 1 made of aluminium-group metal. Secondly, the pressure contacting portions are heated with high frequency to be joined. Accordingly, a wear-resisting metal liner 2 different from aluminum group metal can be joined to the cylinder block 1 made of aluminium-group metal with desired strength so as to reduce the weight and improve durability.
