Abstract:

To provide a method for mounting electro-optic devices to prisms which is capable of improving the position accuracy of the electro-optic devices, improving fixing work efficiency and simplifying fixing work stages and a process for producing projection type display devices.

This process has spacer adhering stages S1 to S4 and S9 for mounting spacers 57 via adhesives between panel frames 51 holding the electro- optic devices and the prism, position regulating stages S11 to S14 for regulating the mounting positions of these panel frames 51 with respect to the prisms after these spacer adhering stages S1 to S10 and panel frame fixing stages S15 to S19 for fixing the panel frames 51 by curing the adhesives after these position regulating stages S11 to S14.
