Title:
METHOD FOR MOUNTING OPTICAL ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3168297
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exactly control the positioning and assembling of a plane optical component with respect to a mounting member by arranging plural balls to this mounting member, exactly forming a geometrical plane and pressing this plane to the respective balls, thereby arranging the plane optical component.
SOLUTION: The several spherical positioning balls (for example, a spherical lens 34 and spherical balls 40 and 41) are arranged at the mounting member 31 to form the geometrical plane 55. The positioning balls are not required to be spherical and may be formed as, for example, an elliptic shape or polyhedron as well. Next, the plane optical member 32 is pressed to the respective spherical balls and is arranged on the mounting member 31 in such a manner that the plane optical member 32 sticks to the position along the geometrical plane 55. Consequently, the mounting of the plane optical member 32 exactly controllably to the mounting member 31 is made possible. While the plane optical member 32 is indicated as an optical filter in this embodiment, the formation of the element as a plane mirror, isolator, prism, etc., is equally good.
