PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy installation and update of an accessory application for a mobile terminal.SOLUTION: A method and an apparatus for obtaining an accessory application for a mobile terminal 100 from a communication network are provided. The mobile terminal 100 includes an accessory interface 110 that gives accessory identification information to a processing device 125 in the mobile terminal in response to a connection with an accessory. The processing device 125 inquires of an accessory application memory 135 in the mobile terminal 100 about an accessory application. The memory 135 provides information related to a storage application. If the information indicates that the state of the storage application is inappropriate, the processing device 125 issues an application request to the network.
