To provide a method for opening and separating the end material of a woven fabric, by which the fibers of the end material of the woven fabric can be recycled as materials, by opening and removing only the wefts of the end material of a woven fabric from the warps, cutting the left warps in a prescribed length and then separately recovering the wefts and the warps.

This method for opening and separating the end material E of a woven fabric comprises opening and removing only the wefts E1 of the woven fabric end material E generated in a weaving process from the warps E2, cutting the left warps E2 in a prescribed length, and then separately recovering the wefts E1 and the warps E2. The wefts E1 of the end material E are opened and removed from the warps E2 by the use of opening members such as opening needles 12, and suction means which are operated in synchronization with the opening of the wefts E1 of the end material E and with the cutting of the wefts E2, respectively, are switched to separately recover the wefts E1 and the warps E2 by the suction means.
