Title:
METHOD FOR OPERATING ASH MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3534680
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating an ash melting furnace to increase melting efficiency to a value higher than that of a conventional method even in the case of a small amount of incinerated ash.
SOLUTION: Incinerated ash produced by burning an incinerating substance is charged in a furnace chamber 6 of a melting furnace body 2 and by melting the incinerated ash by heating plasma electrodes 4 and 7, incinerated ash is brought into a slug 14 state. In a method for operating the ash melting furnace 1, when an amount of incinerated ash charged in the furnace chamber 6 is reduced to a value lower than melting capacity of incinerated ash of the melting furnace body 2 and incinerated ash charged in the melting furnace body 2 stops, the interior of the furnace chamber 6 is kept in a heat insulation state by a heating means during a time in which the incinerated ash is charged again. A heat insulation means is operated such that the interior of the furnace chamber 6 is kept in a heat insulation state by maintaining a distance H between the plasma electrodes 4, 7 and the slug 14 in the furnace chamber is maintained at 40 mm or less.
