PURPOSE: To decide the optimum operation condition and to operate a blast furnace based on this optimum operation by deciding the current fused zone shape from representative values at shaft part and bosh part obtd. by measuring and calculating stave temps. at plural points in a blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: The stave temps. at plural points in height direction and circular direction in the blast furnace are measured with stave thermometer groups TS, TB arranged to the shaft part S and the bosh part B in the blast furnace. From these measured values, the representative values of at least the shaft part S and the bosh part B are calculated. From these representative values, the current fused zone shape is selected from the preset fused zone shape section. Further, pressures in the furnace in upper part, middle part and tuyere part in the blast furnace are measured with pressure gages PS1, PS2, PH, and components of the gas in the furnace at plural points are measured with sounds ZP, SS. From these measured values, ventilation resistant index and CO utilizing ratio, etc., are calculated and the fused zone shape is synthetically decided. The operation condition in the blast furnace, where this decided fused zone shape comes to the target shape, is decided, and based on this, the blast furnace is operated.
