Abstract:

To provide a combustion apparatus capable of stably burning gaseous fuel containing hydrogen or consisting of hydrogen.

A conically shaped gaseous fuel column surrounded by a rotating combustion air stream flowing tangentially into a swirl generator 1 is formed by centrally injecting fuel along a burner axis A from a nozzle 3. The gaseous fuel containing hydrogen or consisting of hydrogen is tangentially injected into a synthesis zone 8 along a transitional portion 6. A fuel/air swirl of the synthesis zone 8 is ignited and burned in a downstream combustor B, and at the same time, forms a backflow zone RB. By this, the gaseous fuel containing hydrogen or consisting of hydrogen can be stably burned.
