Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method and system for operating the display of plural software applications in a data processing system.

CONSTITUTION: In a data processing system, a depth control window 40 is displayed in response to the input of a user. The depth control window includes plural graphic elements 44 arranged in a selected sequence. Each graphic element is made correspond to one software application window in the data processing system. Then, the display of the software application window in the data processing system is changed in response to the selection of the specific graphic element by a user, and a specific application window 26 corresponding to the selected graphic element is displayed, and each window 28, 30, 32, and 34 covered with a window in which a specific application is displayed is displayed.
