Abstract:
To provide a method for separating chlorine molecules combined to an aromatic compound and removing the separated chlorine molecules as a harmless compound.
This method comprises: a step to pass exhaust gas of around 260°C containing a chlorinated aromatic compound through a tunnel of a vanadium-titanium catalyst and separate the chlorine molecules; and a step to pass the exhaust gas containing the separated chlorine atom through a caustic soda aqueous solution and remove the separated chlorine molecules as NaCl so that the exhaust gas is detoxified/desalted.
