PURPOSE: To obtain a painted surface having high three-dimensional feeling and gorgeousness by patterning and finishing the painted surface of a painting material of a synthetic high polymer for paint contg. multicolor aggregate and additives having specific grain size distributions with a roller fitted with a rotary cylinder having ruggedness.

CONSTITUTION: Colored aggregate which is one of the components for a paint material, is opaque and colorless or colored and is of .2 colors is used, and the grain size distributions thereof are set about 0.05W0.2mm: 0.2W0.7mm: about 0.7W5mm=1:0.3W1.0:0.1W0.9 (by volume), for which inorg. aggregate such as silica sand or colored aggregate or pottery type ground grains and the like are used. Synthetic high polymer for the painting which are other components are transparent ones such as polyvinyl acetate, for which aq. dispersion type is used. Besides these, additives such as filming aids, and if necessary, a filler are added. While the coated surface of the paint material contg. these is still wet, the paint material is pressed with the projecting parts of a rotary cylinder having ruggedness, by which the large aggregate is forced into the paint material layer and the smooth surface is obtained.
