To provide a method for parallel production of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane.
A method includes: a reaction step of making 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene react with HF to obtain a product including trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane, and HCl; a distillation step of distilling the product and recovering 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene and HF, and feeding them to the reaction step; a hydrogen fluoride separation step of recovering HF from a fraction of the distillation step and feeding it to the reaction step; a hydrogen chloride separation step of bringing water or an NaOH aqueous solution into contact with the residue of the hydrogen fluoride separation step and removing HCl; a drying step of dehydrating the residue of the hydrogen chloride separation step; a purification step of rectifying the residue of the drying step; and a conversion step of converting cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene into 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane.
