PURPOSE: To restrain strip from flying and pass it stably by working its tip part in a corrugated shape.

CONSTITUTION: The strip 1 rolled by a hot rolling mill is advanced from the final finish stand 2 and moved forward on a hot run table 3. Many table rollers 4 are arranged on the table 3 in the advancing direction of the strip, a roller type forming machine 5 is arranged between the stand 2 and the hot run table 3 and the forming machine 5 has a pair of upper and lower corrugated rolls. The tip part of the strip 1 is worked by rolling down a corrugated roll over the whole width in a corrugated shape. Rigidity in the advancing direction is elevated remarkably by rid effect in the worked tip part 7 of the strip 1 and the strip 1 is advanced on the hot run table 3 without flying and taken up on a down coiler 9 via a pinch roll 8.
