Abstract:
PURPOSE: To pattern an extended Al alloy contg. a restricted amount of V, Cr or B with fine and lustrous streaks like straight grain of wood, by chemically polishing or electropolishing the alloy after etching.
CONSTITUTION: An extended Al alloy contg. 0.5W2.5% V, 0.5W2.5% Cr or 0.5W 2.0% B is etched at about 0.1W0.6g/dm2 rate of dissolution. The extended Al alloy patterned with fine streaks like straight grain of wood, by the etching is chemically polished or electropolished to make the streaks clear and lustrous.
