Title:
METHOD FOR PATTERNING ORNAMENTAL GOODS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03158454
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily and inexpensively impart patterns in relief to ornamental goods consisting of Ti, Ti alloy, plastics, etc., by applying an org. mask material on the hard film provided on the surface of the ornamental goods and treating the coating with a hydrofluoric acid peeling agent, then subjecting the articles to barrel polishing.

CONSTITUTION: The hard film consisting of a golden color TiN film 2 is formed on the surface of spectacles 1 which consist of a Ti material and are the ornamental goods. The org. mask layer 3 consisting of etching resist ink for plating of an epoxy system, etc., is applied on this TiN film 2 to pattern the film. The spectacles 1 are immersed into the hydrofluoric acid peeling agent to partially remove the above mentioned TiN film 2. Further, the org. mask layer 3 is removed by trichloroethane, etc., and thereafter, the spectacles 1 are set in a barrel polishing device and are polished. The above-mentioned hard TiN film 2 is not polished and only the parts where there are no TiN films 2 are polished. The white Ti spectacles 1 having the patterns of the golden color TiN films 2 in relief are obtd. in this way.
