PURPOSE: To provide a patterning method of giving a multi-color patterned layer with accuracy and photographic tone to cardboard with uneven surface.

CONSTITUTION: Cardboard with uneven surface is furnished with an adhesive layer 6 as required, a pattern layer of patterning sheet 12 with a design layer and the uneven surface of the cardboard are superimposed in contact with each other in order to subsequently be compressed by means of an elastic roller 8 from the base material 1 side of the patterning sheet 12, where the elastic roller deforms elastically in conformity with the unevenness of the cardboard, so that the patterning sheet is compressed to be adhesively bonded to the uneven surface of the cardboard.
