Abstract:

To provide a method of laying a cable, wherein the cable of specifications suitable for the purpose of use can be freely selected, at need, from among a plurality of cable pans holding cables different in specifications and the cable can be paid out to a feeding apparatus.

The method is characterized in that it involves a circular turntable (52) which is installed on the upper face of a barge-type platform (1) and is freely turnable, and a plurality of cable pans (31) and (32) holding cables (35). A plurality of the cable pans (31) and (32), holding cables (35), are placed on the turntable (52). The turntable (52) is turned, and an arbitrary cable pan (31) or (32) is selected and moved to the take off port of an on-board tower (38), and the cable (35) is sent from the selected cable pan (31) or (32) to the cable feeding apparatus via the on-board tower (38), and the cable (35) is reeled out and laid.
