Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the smooth peeling of the sheath from a bamboo shoot, by applying plural slant cuts to the top of the bamboo shoot, loosening the top, and introducing the shoot between a pair of rollers or a roller and an endless belt rotating to opposite directions with each other.

CONSTITUTION: The rotary edge 1 is compsed of a rotary roll 2 furnished with a number of edges 4 at the circumference and supported by the shaft 3, wherein the outer diameter of the edge at the basement 5 of the roll is made larger than that of the edge at the other end 6 of the roll. A transfer table 7 is placed under the rotary edge 1. When a bamboo shoot is inserted between the edge 1 and the table 7 before or after boiling, plural cuts are applied to the top of the shoot, and the shoot is loosened. The bamboo shoot having plural cuts at the top is introduced between a pair of rollers 11 rotating to opposite directions to effect the peeling of the sheath.
