To provide an efficient method for performing a handoff in a network.
A method for performing a handoff in a network having first and second base stations and a wireless mobile terminal, includes: (A) a step of receiving a handoff request from the first base station to the second base station, from the mobile terminal; and (B) a step of transferring security information from the first base station to the second base station in response to the request.
