Abstract:
To reduce a rate of thickness deviation when an elliptical billet is pierced with a press roll piercer.
When the billet the groove bottom side of a roll groove of which is made into a circular-arc shape and the flange side of the side face of a roll into a straight-line shape is pierced with the press roll piercer, a cylindrical guide is installed on the inlet side, and a clearance CW in the width direction and clearance CH in the hight direction between the guide and the billet are defined as 0.06≤CW/W≤0.10, 0.06≤CH/H≤0.10. Where, W is the width of the billet and H is the height of the billet.
