To provide a GPS positioning method capable of reducing a time required from power-on of a electric power source to start of positioning operation.
An oscillation frequency of a reference frequency oscillator used in a GPS receiver part 10, or frequency fluctuation thereof is measured using highly precise frequency information provided by a standard radio wave. A result measured therein is used for gaining a signal from a GPS satellite. Synchronizing timing as to a diffusion code of a spectrum diffusion signal from the satellite is detected to detect a fine time component for time synchronization. After the synchronization of the diffusion code is finished, a time of a border line in one cycle of the diffusion code is detected using time information provided from the standard radio wave, and a time component equal or more to/than the fine time component for the time synchronization is detected based on the border line time. The time synchronization is conducted using the fine time component and the time component of the fine time component or more.
