PURPOSE: To enable pre-soldering without forming an interconnecting portion at the end of a coaxial cable by applying a jet of solder from below to the required portion of a coaxial cable shield layer from which the shield is exposed.
CONSTITUTION: A notch 8 is provided in a position separate by required length from the end of a coaxial cable 4 to cut a shield cover 7, and while the cut portion 7A of the shield cover is left at the end of the cable 4 and an inner shield layer 9 is exposed, a jet 20 of solder liquid from the nozzle 27 of a solder jetting mechanism 22 is applied to the layer 9 from below, the layer 9 not being bent due to tension. Then solder liquid flows down and adheres to that side face of the layer 9 to which the jet 20 is not directly applied, and while formation of an oxide film is prevented by the jet of solder liquid, a pre-solder layer 10 is formed over the layer 9 without forming an interconnecting portion of solder at the end of the coaxial cable.
