To provide a method for predicting degradation of storage battery, superior in reliability and capable of highly accurately predicting the progress of degradation of a storage battery with regard to changes in the temperature of the storage battery and charges and discharges of the storage battery.
An arithmetic expression (4) expressing the state of degradation of the capacity of the storage battery with the passage of time with the presence times of the temperature T of the storage battery in a plurality of temperature ranges as parameters is previously obtained. From predicted changes in the temperature of the storage battery with the passage of time, the presence time of the temperature T of the storage battery in each temperature range is grasped. By substituting the presence time of the temperature T of the storage battery in each temperature range in the arithmetic expression (4), the state of degradation of the storage battery is predicted.
