Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to highly accurately predict a flow rate even when the state of a river is suddently changed.
SOLUTION: In a water quantity predicting method for predicting the flow rate of a dam concerned at prediction time in the future by inputting the quantity of water discharged from an upstream dam, the quantity of water in the dam itself, rainfall, etc., to a predictive model constructed by a computer by using past experience values, plural predictive models specified in each of conditions such as a flow rate and rainfall are prepared and predictive values obtained from respective predictive models are merged by fuzzy inference to obtain the predictive value of the dam concerned. Fuzzy inference is executed by using a membership function considering the flow rate of the dam itself and the variation of the flow rate and a rule determing the predictive model to be used in accordance with the flow rate of the dam itself and the variation of the flow rate and respective fuzzy inference results are merged. A parameter of the membership function is determined from statistic indexes such as the maximum value and mean value of the variations of flow rates found out from current time up to the prediction time based on the past experience values.
