Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing multiwalled carbon nanotubes in which walls are close-packed up to the central parts with high purity and in high efficiency.
SOLUTION: Close-packed multiwalled carbon nanotubes (10) are prepared by introducing a carbon rod (2) into a plasma flame (1) generated in an atmosphere of a hydrogen-added inert gas (4), evaporating carbon, and depositing the close-packed multiwalled carbon nanotubes (10) on the surface of the carbon rod (2).
