Abstract:
To provide a method for preparing a norbornene polymer with high productivity, and a novel palladium complex suitably used as a catalyst in the method.
The method for preparing the norbornene polymer uses at least one metal compound component (A) represented by formula (I) (wherein X1 is non-substituted 1-20C alkyl; a plurality of R's are each independently 3-8C secondary alkyl or 4-8C cycloalkyl; X2 is hydrogen, optionally substituted 1-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon, optionally substituted 6-20C aromatic hydrocarbon, halogen, acetoxy, amino, amido, carboxyl, nitro, carbonyl, trifluoromethanesulfonyl or trifluoroacetoxy; and M is a group 10 element of the periodic table) as a catalyst. A compound represented by formula (IV) is also provided.
